Apply coupon discount to more than one line item

If so, you are correct that is NOT how a dollar discount works on the Discount Coupon ...

Let me hunt through the code and see how hard it would be to change it to be $XX.XX off per quantity ... I have to give that some thought ...

Yes, that is correct.

I am not a programmer by any means, but I see how it is easier to get the system to work with the percentages instead of the manner I wish it would work.

It would also be nice if the system worked in reverse. Meaning, it would be better to have the ability to apply the coupon to a category or product instead of having it applied to all products and then setting all the restrictions.

I have a client with a small site but she really challenges me with her promotions and finding a way to make them work within the coupon system. :-)

Do you want this for ALL coupons with an amount or just for SOME coupons with an amount?

I'm thinking ALL. I'm trying to run this scenario through my mind to determine if there would be situation I would not want it applied to all ...

If I say SOME, are you suggesting it would be flexible in assigning it to work in that manner? If that is so, then make it so the client or site admin has the option based on the promotion they are running.

Can you expand on that thought? I am not quite following you there ...

When you set up a coupon you have the ability to choose if it is for shipping, or a discount off the total order, or a discount on product. I wanted to confirm it wouldn't effect the ability to set coupons for shipping or order totals.

Are you using the original ot_coupon.php for v1.5.1?

Yes, currently. The new site for this client will be using 1.5.4. We are in the process of upgrading her site.
