Image in pop up is not proportional

Could someone please help. I have searched the forum and have not found an answer to this 1 problem.

When you click on the larger image, the pop up is not proportional.
I tried changing
Use Proportional Images on Products and Categories to true and that made my images go away completely. All I want is for them to be sized around 600 px by whatever the proportion is.

Try switching to the classic template to see if this persists
If not, then you have narrowed it to a file in your template

Thanks that was great. It works perfectly in classic template. So any idea what file in the new template I need to start looking.

Look in /includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE/main_product_image.php for your template's modifications.
