Home page no products will show not specials, featured or new.

I have Version 1.5.4 and have been working on it for a couple of months. I started uploading products (easy POP4) and everything looks fine in the uploaded products for the admin side of things.
I've configured featured products and specials (they show in the sidebar), but no products show on the home page in the main area.
If I select either one in the sidebar they will show up in the middle.
I have a backup that works fine on my wamp install and have used Winmerge to compare files and uploaded changed one from backup. Still doesn't work.
I have reset all settings in Index Pages to the default install, still nothing on the home page for products.

Is there a file that could be corrupt that I need to look at or upload that wouldn't show up a being different in WinMerge.

I'd hate to have to reload and reinstall.

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm viewing on iPad and I see featured products on home page?

The featured products are on the sidebar on mine. (Which it still could be me) But the configuration should have New Products, Specials and Featured products in the main page area, the middle. I suspect the ipad is switching to the responsive view which would be different that if viewed on a computer browser.

Viewing on my notebook, I see the Featured sidebox but none of the new/specials/featured centerboxes. When I inspect the page source (pressing Ctrl+U while viewing in Firebox), I see the HTML comments indicating the start/end of each of the centerboxes' processing but no output.

What happens if you temporarily change to use the "Classic Green" template? If the boxes do show up using that template, it indicates an issue with the files associated with your active template.

I did try that and they didn't show up in the Classic Green template either. But thanks for looking. Hopefully I don't have to reload, alot of work down the drain.

If you are using ZC 1.5.4 you can get all the configuration keys & values in admin > tools > DTK. Taking featured products as an example, look for the box 'Search in Configuration Settings/Keys' and enter featured. This brings up all your settings for featured products. Check that all is set as required.
