abagon Footer can not be changed

I am have a problem changing the Header and Footer on a Free Abagon Template on certain servers

I have uploaded a test cart to a server and edited all the files and it all works great but when I come to edit the same files on the new server I lose the Header and Footer.

If I just change the Footer I lose the Header and Footer and visa a versa.

Even if I change one letter and change it back it will not load.

I am new to zen cart so any help would be great
