Suddenly my site is down with error "7 couldn't connect to host"

My site has been working properly with FedEx Shipping module for shipping rate estimates and PayPal Payment Pro installed for years until yesterday. From yesterday customer cannot check out shipping with FedEx (no shipping rate return with "No data returned from Fedex, perhaps the Fedex site is down"). When customer clicks PayPal express check out button and got an error like "7 couldn't connect to host".

Then tested CURL via /extras/curltester.php?paypal=1 and got error message as follows.

It seems the server's commands cannot be passed to the destination servers like FedEx and PayPal. Called HostGator and the tech support checked CURL and was told there is nothing wrong. I am super frustrating... Can somebody helps? Many thanks.

Regarding paypal had you applied the SSL3 correcton at: https://www.zen-cart.com/showthread....yment-security

Also, regarding fedex, when was the last tme that software was updated? (What is verson installed on your ste?)

And lastly ZC 1.5.4 was issued 7 months ago as compared to 1.5.1 about 3.5 years ago.

Since you say it "suddenly started yesterday", then if YOU didn't change anything in your Zen Cart software files, and have confirmed that no unauthorized intruder changed anything either, then the problem is with something your hosting company did to their server config.

Yes it was a server side issue. I did not do anything and my site works well now. Called host gator and was told that did not know what their admin has done. My ticket is still open and has not been taken care of. Decided to move to other hosts. Is there anyone who can give recommendation for a most reliable host?
