Allowing Manufacturers to loh in to Admin and view their sales

Zencart gas support for Multiple manufacturers. One could sort products by "manufacturers", view the sales....etc. Great feature for supporting multiple vendors / manufacturers.

But.... if a manufacturer wants to view his own sales without any intervention of the site administrator ?

He can't !! He has to depend on the Site Administrator for all his reports.

It could be so simple, making life easy for everybody !

JUST ALLOW ONE MORE FIELD WHILE REGISTERING A MANUFACTURER IN THE ADMIN - ADD HIS "EMAIL" !!!

When we are allowing Manufacturer's name, Logo, Product details, we could also allow another field i.e. EMAIL !

With his email added in the Admin, the administrator could assign him a ROLE and the manufacturer can login with his email id and password, view his ORDERS independently !!! Even he can administrate his own customers !!!

I think adding an email field of the manufacturer to the database and filtering the orders based on his email should not be difficult.

I am new to Zencart. So I really don't want to fool around with my newly working site.

Can anybody help ?

It doe NOT allow multiple sellers to have access to their products

When we do that, it takes load off the administrator because the Manufacturers can see their own sales and take report printout.

As stated - ZenCart is not designed for this
One can not limit what they see to only their products
So if you allow them access you do it at your own risk

If you look at the 1st Picture, you can SORT the order list. Now when the manufacturer logs in ( through ROLE ASSIGNMENT ), this list should be sorted automatically based on his email id.

In the 2nd picture, you can assign the features that he can view.

When they are assigned ROLES, they can be restricted to what they can see. Please refer to the picture above.

When they log in the Orders are filtered based on their email. So they see the details of their own products. Again refer to the picture above.

We need just marginal extension. By adding an EMAIL field to the manufacturer's details and little modification here and there one could achieve the goal. We may not need a full mall script.

You can add email to that table - but then you need code to get it and filter it and pages to represent it
