Difficult login to admin (only after numerous attempts)

I run version 1.3.9H
It takes me numerous attempts to login to my admin page. I need to click usually 20 to 30 times in the browser address bar before the admin page opens. Once it has been opened everything works normal. If I close the page and login again the page will open immediately after the first attempt.

What could be the reason for this?

Personally.. Would suggest the same thing as two years ago whch is to upgrade/rebuild... http://www.zen-cart.com/entry.php?3-...d-of-upgrading

Soon even PHP 5.4 will be out-of-date...
