Default Can Shipping be calculated from attribute

    Hi all

I welcome any advice: We sell desks with tops that range from 800mm wide to 2000mm wide. We have standard delivery charges in place, but The larger desks cost an extra £10 to ship anywhere in the UK. Naturally this unit price goes down the more thats ordered, so for example 12+ costs £9 per unit.

The top sizes are set up as a product attribute. Is it possible for us to be able amend shipping costs depending on the larger tops being selected?

Or should I just set the larger desks up as a separate product and set the price per unit from there? Please could anyone advise.

I found this in the downloads section, but cannot find any reviews on if it works and how it works https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1916

Please could anyone provide any advice/guidance? I can provide further details if I haven't explained it clearly enough (which I probably haven't)

    Any advice is gratefully received.

Does the price increase deend on the method of shipping or is it pretty uniform across the board? The attribute could be setup to incorporate the cost (assuming all product ships and is not locally retrievable) otherwise, the standard answer for a large majority of questions about ZC is of course it could be factored in.

There are a myriad of questions advised to answer regarding shipping modifications such as which shipping module(s) to incorporate this additional fee, is it a set fee or based on some other varying factor? What about miixed quantity shipments (ie two types of product in the cart one that meets the requirement to increase shippng, the other doesn't and in particular the multiple quantity aspect.)

There are more than likely other shippng related questions to address and these are just a start.

    Hi mc

There is only one method of shipping - UK, but it is set as a unit price

    So for example:

Desk frames are the have the same fee per unit, however many are ordered (1, 50, 100, etc)

The basic desks are something like £15 per single unit, this goes down to £10 when more than 5 are ordered or £8 when more than 10 are ordered.

The bigger desks are £25 per single unit, which then goes down to £20 when more than 5 are ordered and £18 for a quantity of more than 10.

Top sizes are set up on the product as attribute and very from 800mm wide (basic) to very wide (2000mm)

If more than one product is ordered, this also depends on the quantity that's being ordered.

    I hope this helps.

Ok I have got an update: there are about 4 different table rates depending on the product. The larger desk is being canned for now.

Is there a way that multiple table rates can be set to a specific product

I found https://zencart.codes/index.php?main...products_id=18, which allows for up to 5 table rtes, but I think this is determined by zone.

    Please could anyone advise

I assume that this is all that you sell??
If so, and your ship fee is not weight based one can use a non displayed weight as a basis for shipping fees

But you then also want to vary this by the qty ordered which would get very tricky - additional custom coding

I would apply a qty discount to the item and leave the shipping based upon weight

    base desk = 1kg = £15
    next ship level of desk = 2kg = £25
another ship level of desk =3kg = £??
    and so forth

    Hi Kobra

    Thanks for the reply.

We already are using the Product price manager to discount 6-11 and 12+ units. So it could get messy.

    Kind regards
