Is there a previously purchased notification add on??

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew if there was an add on that alerts a customer when they purchase an item that they've previously purchased.

We sell downloadable goods, and fairly commonly we have customers who purchase an item that they have already previously purchased. I was wondering if there was an add on module that would bring up a notice on the screen when they added an item to their cart, that they have previously purchased.

Could use an extra_carts function to search the customer's orderhistory (are they required to be logged in by that point?). Otherwise would have to check on or after checkout_shipping to review the items in the cart in comparison to the order history.

Thanks for your reply. I guess it would be appropriate to be triggered during checkout in the event that a customer was not logged in when adding items to their cart. They do have to be logged in to go enter the checkout process so this would be a good spot.

Are you aware of a current add on that does this? Or would this need to be an advanced code in.

I'm not aware of any existing code that would (in some people's perspective) stop a sale to a willing payer.

Don't know about advanced coding, but yes it would be custom coding...

Hmm, thinking would probably want to still have the "alert" active on the shopping cart (if they are logged in) to do the same thing...

Suggest alert on product info, shopping cart and checkout shipping (first two only if logged in, of course).
