Admin login problems, password reset / update not working.

Hi my friends tried to login but the 90 days was up so they entered a new password I quote

"This morning I entered a new password and was able to enter the site.
At lunchtime I tried to enter the site using and it came up as 'incorrect password'
I tried a couple of other spelling options which did not work - and rang you. After the 30 minutes wait got a temporary password, entered that and it asked for old password (which I put in as ) and then put in a new password .
It then blocked again! "

Since then I have tried resetting the password by going to Cpanel and using the instructions supplied here

"DELETE FROM admin WHERE admin_name = 'Admin';
INSERT INTO admin (admin_name, admin_email, admin_pass, admin_profile)
VALUES ('Admin', 'admin@localhost', '351683ea4e19efe34874b501fdbf9792:9b', 1);"

This then allowed me to login as Admin and to set a new password. This then allowed me to go to the site as normal. However I found out as my friends had, that if I log out and log in again the new password in is not valid and it comes up with "You entered the wrong username or password"

I have tried this several times with the same results. It will also not allow me to login as "Admin" with PW "admin"

Any ideas how to fix this would be much appreciated, thanks.

What plugins are installed?
What version ZC?
What version PHP?
Is the system an upgraded fileset? If so, how was it upgraded?
Please answer the remaining questions of the posting tips to try to help more.

Hi mc12345678 thanks for the reply, I have just sussed the problem, my bad.
I assumed that once the password update had been done it would revert to the old ,login user name (not remain "Admin") with the updated password but it stays with "Admin" (I just tested)
