Default Urgent Problem with my store :(

Since last week, something very weird and very important right now has been happening. I'm in the middle of my yearly huge sale at my store. People are having trouble with links not being "clickable". When you hover over some of the links the arrow doesn't change to the little hand that shows it's clickable, however if you just scroll down a little bit and hover over the link again, the hand shows up! This is happening all over the different pages of my store, and it's random as to what links show as un-clickable. I don't know what to do because over the last two days I've lost $1k from people that are frustrated with the problem.

I went into my cache folder this morning and found this info in myDEBUG file:

[16-Nov-2015 01:08:37] PHP Warning: opendir(/home/joannes/public_html/pub/) [<a href='function.opendir'>function.opendir</a>]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /home2/joannes/public_html/includes/modules/pages/download/header_php.php on line 87
[16-Nov-2015 01:08:37] PHP Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /home2/joannes/public_html/includes/modules/pages/download/header_php.php on line 88
[16-Nov-2015 01:08:37] PHP Warning: closedir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /home2/joannes/public_html/includes/modules/pages/download/header_php.php on line 102
[16-Nov-2015 01:08:37] PHP Warning: mkdir() [<a href='function.mkdir'>function.mkdir</a>]: No such file or directory in /home2/joannes/public_html/includes/modules/pages/download/header_php.php on line 132

I don't understand what all of that means, but I need urgent help in getting this issue solved - anyone? Please Please help me!

    Thanks,

    Joanne

It sounds like (a) you've got downloads enabled and (b) download-by-redirect set to 'true'. Someone's trying to download a product they purchased and there is an issue with your /pub folder (as defined by the DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC setting in your /includes/configure.php file) -- like it's missing.

Not to harp, but if you're really still running Zen Cart v1.3.8a ... it's time to upgrade that 6-year-old technology!

Just looked at my directory and there was no /pub folder so I went to my zen cart files and copied it over, but it didn't make any difference - you still can't click on some of the links without scrolling the page a bit. Also no one has mentioned having trouble downloading their files. Their problem is that they can't click on a link or button on any of the pages unless they scroll - and they're too frustrated to add all their items to their cart to keep going, and they just give up

And yes, I'm still using 38a because I've tried to upgrade and it screws up all my add ons

A link to your site? You can send it via PM if you don't want the link published.

For example, I scroll down the categories, and the link for new products just shows the arrow but if you scroll down a bit it becomes clickable - it's driving me nuts!

You have done a great job with that site. But, the code is OOOLD ...... and me thinks that it can't cope with some updated external jscripts.

Without actually seeing the file system with all the installed mods I am afraid I can't pinpoint what's going on there.

Did your host make any changes on the server lately?

Not that I know of, but I sent in a ticket yesterday - with not much of a reply from them (Hostgator)

It looks like, it's always the bottom links that aren't clickable on the visible page, when the site opens - but then if you use the scroll bar and go down just a little bit, they then become clickable.

And thank you for the compliment on my page :)

Yep, I noticed that. I guess it would pay to put the effort in and upgrade the site to the latest ZC version. Despite all the mods you said you installed it is not that difficult.

When I view your site with FireFox and click F12 to view the console, there's a console message on the front page:
    Code:
    SyntaxError: expected expression, got '&'
and then clicking through to see what the issue is, I see:
    Code:
    <script>(function () { document.write(&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;quot;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;sc&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;quot;+&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;quot;ript type='text/javascript' src='http://myfreecopyright.com//badge.js?mcn=WG670-8464M-7TNVC'&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;quot;+&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;quot;script&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;quot;);} () )</script><div class="myfreecopyrightBadge"><a target="_blank" title="MyFreeCopyright.com Registered & Protected" href="http://myfreecopyright.com/registered_mcn/WG670-8464M-7TNVC"><img width="145" height="38" border="0" title="MyFreeCopyright.com Registered & Protected" alt="MyFreeCopyright.com Registered & Protected" src="http://storage.myfreecopyright.com/mfc_protected.png" /></a><a target="_blank" href="http://myfreecopyright.com/" title="MyFreeCopyright.com Registered & Protected"></a></div><br />
Since you've got a javascript/jQuery issue, that's going to muck up any js processing further down on the page since the js error-handling tends to be stop-on-first-error (SOFE).

I also just noticed that in my cpanel the path to my site is /home2/ and in my configure file it's just /home/ without the 2 - would that make a difference? I mean the shop is still showing up and everything - it's just those darn link problems.
