    Default USPS Multiple Boxes

Is there a way to have USPS module quote based on total weight even if it exceeds their maximum weight per box? I would like it to treat any weight over their maximum weight as a second box automatically. Now if if it exceeds the weight it does not calculate shipping and I have to tell the customer to remove items from the cart until it shows.

USPS module will not calculate shipping if the weight in the shopping cart exceeds their maximum weight limit for a box/country which each country has different weight limits for a box. So for example the US I believe is 70 lbs while Canada is 60 lbs. It would be nice to have an option in the USPS setup to have it automatically if enabled split total weight in cart into multiple boxes if it exceeds the shipping destinations maximum weight for a box. That way larger orders can be handled more smoothly. I know this will not work for everyone that is why it should be an option, but in my case would work perfect because I can easily split an order into multiple boxes because not one item that I sell weights over 5 lbs each.

So for example a order shipping to Canada with a shopping cart weight of 76 lbs would calculate shipping base on two boxes being 38 lbs each, if this feature is enabled.

As of right now the only way for my customers to place these larger orders that exceeds their country's weight limit is to place multiple separate orders which is not very user friendly.

I tried quotes for 38 pounds and 76 pounds to Canada and got:
    Canada 38 lbs
USPS (1 Boxes) (38 lbs, 0 oz) (Priority Mail International® (6 - 10 business days to many major markets)) $124.26
USPS (1 Boxes) (38 lbs, 0 oz) (Priority Mail Express International™ (3 - 5 business days to many major markets)) $198.84
USPS (1 Boxes) (38 lbs, 0 oz) (Global Express Guaranteed® (GXG) (1 - 3 business days to many major markets)) $220.59
USPS (1 Boxes) (38 lbs, 0 oz) (USPS GXG™ Envelopes (1 - 3 business days to many major markets)) $220.59
    Canada 76 lbs
USPS (2 Boxes) (38 lbs, 0 oz) (Priority Mail International® (6 - 10 business days to many major markets)) $248.52
USPS (2 Boxes) (38 lbs, 0 oz) (Priority Mail Express International™ (3 - 5 business days to many major markets)) $397.68
USPS (2 Boxes) (38 lbs, 0 oz) (Global Express Guaranteed® (GXG) (1 - 3 business days to many major markets)) $441.18
USPS (2 Boxes) (38 lbs, 0 oz) (USPS GXG™ Envelopes (1 - 3 business days to many major markets)) $441.18
When you have 38 pounds in the cart and try to ship to Canada what do you see?

When you have 76 pounds in the cart and try to ship to Canada what do you see?

USPS cannot take a Maximum Weight of:
Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship 150

If you set this to either 50 or 70 does it start working for you?

Glad that this is now fixed for you ...

The Default setting is 50, this is the break point on making up "boxes", while UPS can take higher, USPS Max weight I am pretty sure is 70, but the 50 default has usually been a happy point ...
