red flag Moving site from one domain/url to another

    Hello,

We are looking to move our site to another URL or root location and we were wondering if you have any advice for how to proceed with this in an automated way. Our site is running off of Zen Cart 1.3.9d, on PHP version 5.4.38 (Zend: 2.4.0), using MySQL 5.6.29, and our web hosting service is webdnahosting.com

Please let me know if you need any additional info to assist.

Also, if we were to redirect links to the current main domain, would the backend of our Zen Cart site still be accessible? We are looking to use the current domain for another site we have been developing, but still want to have access to our current Zen Cart based site, as a legacy link.

    thanks

    Omar

Wow... Not even sure where to start...

1.3.9 was not designed to operate on PHP greater than 5.2.x, which means some level of customization has been performed to 1) allow it to function, 2) to hide, ignore, or allow to accumulate error/warning logs, and 3) to address (or not) related security issues.

As far as this "move", it is not at all clear (to me) what is being attempted/needed.

Regarding "automated" that too should be further explained.

hmm... not really sure what you are looking to do...moving your domain to a new URL? root location, at least to me, refers to a document root, or where the files are stored at the host... i think you need some more specificity with exactly what you hope to do...

ok.... let me see if i can figure this out. you have a domain currently running zen-cart. you are moving away from zen-cart to some other solution. but you still want to be able to access the admin section of zen-cart through some other url. if that is what you doing, the answer is yes, that is possible. given enough time and money, anything is possible.

if you post more info, then perhaps someone could help more. else, you can easily PM most/some of the prolific/knowledgable posters on this board, and i'm sure they can help you do what you want.
