.HTACCESS not configured properly

Hi all,

I was setting up v154 yesterday on a new server, and came back to it this morning and it said I needed to upgrade to v155.

I had the .htaccess configuration working for v154, but after unzipping v155 and running the /zc_install/index.php, it says:

Problems with .htaccess support

Now, my problem I have is that the old version at least told me how to fix things or gave me clues how to do that. This new version is so NON-USER-FRIENDLY that i am considering it a downgrade!!!

I might just delete the store folder and go back to the old version.

Anyone have any clue how to fix this?

When you look at that screen which is telling you "Problems with .htaccess support", did you also notice the text right above it in the blue bar that tells you:
"TIP: For some errors and warnings below, more information may be available by clicking on the error/warning title."

And then when you followed those instructions and clicked on the .htaccess alert, it displays:
"htaccess support
There appears to be a problem with the htaccess support on your server. This may be because you are not using Apache as your Web Server or .htaccess support is disabled or not configured correctly.

htaccess support is used to provide security for certain files/folders on your server."

... which is the same message that the previous version would tell you.

But, since it's not a fatal error, you will also notice that the button below it to proceed with installation is there waiting for you to proceed.

You are mostly correct. The previous version game me the green checkmark for the "Apache .htaccess Support = ON" when I finally got it configured properly.

This version doesn't give me any feedback on whether this feature is configured correctly. As .htaccess is used for security purposes, I wanted to find out how to resolve the issue rather than just blow by it.
