Error message when attempting to add items to, or view the cart

When attempting to add items to or view the cart, the following error pops up:

"An unknown response null: :text/html; charset=iso-8859-1: :Not Found was received while processing an ajax call. The action you requested could not be completed."

Clicking OK takes you to wherever you were going. If adding an item to the cart, it appears the item was added.

In searching for this, I found a v154 thread referencing the collation of the DB should be utf8 - mine is (to be specific, utf8_general_ci).

I am running version 1.5.5, and have the Winchester Black template installed, along with the FedEx SmartPost module (numinix fedex smartpost) and the USPS shipping module installed. The PayPal standard payments module is also installed.

All seem to work, however the error message pops up whenever the cart is accessed. Not finding anything in the logs, either.

I moved the site from dev to prod, however this error also appears on dev (didn't think to check that the cart actually functions on dev, just checked everything else - not one of my better moves).

Suggestions on where to look next?

Probably an outdated jscript_framework.php file in that template, not compatible with v1.5.5
