I've got a store that was just updated to Zen Cart 1.5.5a/CKEditor 3.7q. The store-owner has reported that the CKEditor menu-bar displays as a single, static column.
His device is a Macbook Pro 15", MaxOS 10.11.4, Chrome 49.0.2623.112.

I'm using the same, but have no such problem with CKEditor.
Does he have the same in other browsers? If not then maybe there are myriad chrome plugins that are messing with his store. If yes then that suggests a javascript conflict or damaged files on the server.

FWIW, downgrading the editor to v3.7p corrected my client's display issue with the CKEditor menus. His "major" Chrome plugins are 1password and evernote and hasn't been having any other issues (either in the ZC or other sites).
