    Default Connection to Database failed

Switching from XAMPP to local Apache2/php(5.5.31)/mysql(5.0.11) install on my mac. Everything is installed. When I try to install Zencart the Connection to Database failed error comes on. I double checked everything...the login pass hostname created database. What else could cause this problem?

The issue was that the server mysql.socket was not being located. OS X was looking for it in /var and apache in /tmp. Problem solved.
