I copied all the new and changed files.
I tried to use zc-install to upgrade database, but it only showed a fresh install. So I deleted zc-install
But when I go to my store admin it still reports I am on 155 and should upgrade to 155a.
What do I do?

That suggests that you didn't copy all the files.

Yes, you are right. I missed 2, an admin module and, of course, version .php. Tedious checking, but worth it.
