Occasionally asking them to move you to a different (newer) server on the same pricing plan may buy some time before switching, particularly if you've prepaid for a long period of time.

I upgraded twice with GoDaddy over the last year...had to cancel both times because the "higher quality service" had less resources available. I.E. I/O was too low, not enough storage for pics, and incomplete access to db priveleges.
