Item price is not what I have entered (possibly tax)

I have created a new product and entered the price as $70. The net and gross fields both say 70 and the tax class is none but the final price of the item when you view it is $82.52.

Does anyone have any idea what I need to change? I have set up a zone for Australia but I do not need to charge tax at this stage so I have removed the default 7% for Florida and I have also tried to make a tax rate as 0.00 just to see if that works but it is still the same.

Is the product marked priced by attributes?
Does it have attributes?
Are there separate prices related to the attributes if present?
What are the settings regarding taxes and display of product price (price includes tax) in configuration->My Store?

Thanks for replying. I am still no closer to working it out.

No attributes or special or group pricing, they are just basic products without attributes and just the one single price that should be tax free.

I have tried true and false for both of the tax related lines in Config > My Store but it doesn't change either way.

I have a zone set up for Australia and tried a tax class and tax rate with at 0%. I changed the tax class in the product itself to be the no tax class, the gross and net price is still $70 but when you preview it shows $82.50 still.

What about currency and currency conversion?

Ie what's the currency of the store, what currencies are in your localities section, exchange rate?

Otherwise would consider checking for the presence of a plugin like a wholesale option that offers a particular markup. Is this happening to all product? What's the new value if you use say $60 on the admin side? Is it the result about 1.18 times the original value or is it some other factor off? (quantity discount or something?)

I also made few modifications:
I use Euros.

admin_folder/includes/modules/product/collect_info.php
On line ~212-223 where it "rounds" price. I have set
doRound(grossValue, 1) -> originally 2
doRound(netValue, 4)

My issue was, that price showed like 23,89€ when it was supposed to be 23,90€.
