That was one of the more recent changes for the OPC/PayPal integration, specifically forcing PayPal to bypass its 'create address' path when a new address (i.e. that stored at PayPal) was sent down.

I'm in the process of updating OPC but it is always seems so onerous because it is not an upload all the files in the latest version. It is upload changed files from each incremental release until you get to through the current version.
Not exactly true. Each OPC release contains a full file-set. The readme identifies the files changed in case a site's maintainer wants to upload only the changes.

    Very strange...
I agree that it's strange. Unfortunately, you've not given me much with which to diagnose what's wrong.

Is the install on zc157 (no alphabetic suffix) or zc157a or zc157b? If not zc157b (and especially for zc157, no suffix), you need to be sure to apply all the bugfixes (https://www.zen-cart.com/showthread....v1-5-7-series).

What shipping, payment and order-total modules are in use? They've each got a 'play' in the order-generation process.

What template is in use? Many "pretty" templates don't exactly conform to the base Zen Cart model. What version of jQuery is being used?

Many thanks for your reply. I have resolved the problem - my fault when upload files. Sorry about that.

    Very happy now

Which file(s) were missing that caused the very strange behavior?

    Sorry Cindy,

I'm not trying to be obtuse but so many times users get chastised for trying to shortcut upgrade instructions and the upgrade instructions say to look at the file change list, make a list and upload the changed files for each incremental version until a person reaches the current version, after making the github changes required.

If it is just an upload the fileset while maintaining the file structure, that's good news to my eyes and ears.... a few clicks and done.

That'll get done as soon as the coffee is done. Not convinced that will correct the wrong address issue but the issue might be separate from OPC. I'm just glad it was associated with a PP order since PP will cover the order with seller protection. A CC payment would not cover the seller and can't afford too many half pound plus orders of precious metal being misdelivered.

    Thanks for everything.

    v1.5.5f OPC 2.3.6

Hello Cindy - I hope this finds you well.

    My customers are encountering this message when trying to checkout using the checkout tab in the cart - tab takes customer to /index.php?main_page=login and then the message appears after clicking 'Guest Checkout';
"Sorry, but our expedited checkout process cannot be used. Click here to use our alternate checkout process."

I also have the yellow 'checkout with PayPal' tab in the cart which works fine, i.e. the transaction completes as it should.

I searched this support forum and found a couple of references to this issue (https://www.zen-cart.com/showthread....ss#post1357324 and https://www.zen-cart.com/showthread....84#post1362684) to this issue however I'm not sure that my circumstances are the same and I didn't see any resolution to the issue in those threads.

I have PM'd you some debug logs which hopefully can help you to help me find the source of the issue (I didn't want to post them in here for security reasons).

    many thanks,
    Mike

Mike, I'm not seeing those debug-logs in a PM (or direct email). I'll note that I've got v2.3.7 queued for release that prevents that popup from displaying that popup erroneously when either there are no shipping-modules or payment-modules configured for the given delivery/billing addresses.

Update: Logs received via direct email ... and they show that OPC v2.3.4 is currently in use. Please advise.

Yes it (was) v2.3.4 however I upgraded to v2.3.6 after I became aware of the problem - obviously no checkout attempts since I upgraded.

Reference your comment above "prevents that popup from displaying that popup erroneously when either there are no shipping-modules or payment-modules configured for the given delivery/billing addresses." - see screenshot I am sending customers who have experienced the issue - this is showing as soon as guest checkout tab is clicked.

In screenshot - clicking the word 'here' (not exactly prominently clickable - I missed it several times) it takes one to the former checkout pages that were typical before OPC was introduced.

Mike, the issue is that the site's got a jQuery issue

... that's "polluting the jQuery/javascript pool". Once a jQuery error occurs, nothing else can continue. You'll need to either correct or remove whatever's looking for that tabSlideOut function.
