I am working on a website for a family member here ...

If you look at the left sidebox and highlight Aluminium Foil you can see it shows how many products are listed in that category. If you then go down each category you will see the number comes out of alignment. Its almost like its coming out of alignment due to the length of the category name ??

Any advice welcome, thanks in advance.

If you have not already done the upgrade to this template that is needed for it to work with 1.5.5a, it might be better to use the color mod for responsive classic (in my sig) and then use Lat9's clone template to make it safe from future upgrade.
With the color change mod, you could just turn off the mainHeader background to create the white you now use.
Whether or not betterCategories is the problem is yet to be seen.

As far as I know the template is up to date and I run it on another site that still has the top nav bar in use and all displays fine ???

No not all of it, I had the issue when trying to create an account so replaced some of the files from the core Zencart file, what I don`t understand is I have the same theme on my own website and it works fine, I thought the alignment was a css issue, are you saying it is an issue with theme compatibility with 1.5.5 ??

Sorted, for some reason the left column width was at 170px, it should have been 200px, made the change and the alignment is fixed :)
