menu help please....need just categories

I am currently working on a project for a friend (no link as I'm working on localhost)......he is wanting a pretty plain jane site, Header, menu bar, slider, some content and footer. no side boxes, nothing fancy,... I had originally chose to start with winchester_black responsive template and have it near what he wants.....

My problem is the main menu on top. He wants just a menu bar with the categories (there are only 6 categories) with a home button to go back to the index page. How could I go about using just the categories across the top bar a couple with a sub-cat that drops down?

Pretty confused , been many years since I have messed with zencart (Before my brain cancer doesnt help with forgetting stuff )
If I need to move to a premium template is fine too.

Try: Admin > Configuration > Layout Settings > Categories-Tabs Menu ON/OFF

Is that what your friend wants?

Yes Frank, that is exactly what he wants......almost, I need to figure how to move a few things and add a "Home" to the tabs now. I'm doing this on localhost so posted a pic of what I am trying to do also: pic here

Just don't get it from Template Monster, those templates are 'monsters' !

LOL.....thats where he found it.....so far so good, just changing colors and a few other things so far......we will see what happens. I dont care for TM myself...everything is Overpriced
