Trying to add a little text content to main page..

This is another hard one cause I am working on localhost and cant share a link.......unless you want to team view ......My buddy bought a template from t-monster #41684. He liked the layout and figured it wouldnt take much tweaking and changing colors and stuff which has worked out well until:

I am trying to add some text content to just the homepage, below the feature product carousel and above the footer. The define main page does nothing and I'm again stumped at what to do....just want to add a little SEO blurb. I have read a ton of threads kinda pertaining to what I'm trying to do and have tried one that Clyde suggested, it just put the black text on the black background at the very top of the header,. so that didnt work.

Any help is much appreciated - wish I would have learned to code when I was younger

I believe that 'invisible' text (same colour as background) will give you negative SEO results.
Anyway have you tried adding a banner (text not image) to the footer or just on main page via banner manager?
There is an 'if statement' you can use to only show the banner on main page, just search 'banner on home page only' or something similar, it's in the forum somewhere.

yep, that was a little blackhat that was used alot back in the day.....def dont want to do that today. Anyway yes I have tried to add a banner (still very confusing for me) about 10 times and no I can't get it to show up. An image isn't really going to help for the little content (seo blurb) I need to put in there. I will read somemore.

Yes don't use an image for text, banners can be text too thankfully.

Ohhh...shows how much coding I know I finally uploaded it an put it online....it was just easier to tweak on my local machine.
