Company Field on Registration Form

I'm trying to remove the company field from the registration form but can't find the setting in admin. i found the settings to remove the address, city, and state and i removed the country text from the input form but if you fill it out it says you must select the country from the list of countries. how do i shut that off? is it in admin or a code change?

what a dummy i am.. i meant 'country', not company. i can't anywhere to remove the country from the registration forml.

If you do not sell outside the contiguous US, why not just add United States to the default just four lines down from Company?
No code to mess with, will be filled in automatically, and (if you later sell to mars) you can change it back to none.

Tried that by putting the united States as the default but still get country code error when registering

Did you redo the changes you made to the form? That could still be biting you OR Theme Forest

i gave up trying to find out how to remove 'country' and i installed a 'captcha' plugin, which overwrote the registration page (which ended up looking similar to mine anyway).. but of course, the captcha plugin doesn't work correctly.
