Admin product page - WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try agai

I made some changes to some admin files and have the changes working fine on 1 website but when i put the coding into the 2nd website, i get the error 'WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.' on the admin/products edit page. does anyone have any tools that i could use to find out what is erroring out. i just installed web developer tools on firefox but clicking through all the options i can't seem to locate how it all works..

You should check your logs folder for debug logs

You should check your logs folder for debug logs

Tools required: either ftp or the display log files plugin to be able to see them from the admin (assuming one is not otherwise prevented from executing that file).
