directnic uses cPanel, and cPanel includes the file manager, and with the file manager interface you should be able to change the permissions on the file to 0644

Hello,
Thanks the chomd worked it seem but I AM GETTING SYTEM REQUIRED SET UP now.
I went and seen after upload the new file that the database was not in the bottom so I copied the old information and paste this into the new but seems it did not work. The set up page want me to run a new set up what should I do?

OP problem has been solved. Editor collapsing config file and file permissions issues now solved.

when the OP was copying down, editing the config file, and then upload back to the server, the line endings were being stripped and the admin config file was collapsing to a single line. File permissions on the admin config file were set to 777 when I got in there, I returned them to 644 as the 444 requirement went away a while ago.
