PayPal Pro changes for 1.5.5?

I have no problem with the PayPal Pro that comes with 1.5.4. But the customer discovered the messaging about 3D-secure not being used. She has a US cart not UK. So my question is twofold has this messaging been suppressed in the 1.5.5 versions and will the 1.5.5 version work in a 1.5.4 cart? No, she will not be upgrading to 1.5.5 so don't even go there!

I found that later versions of Paypal usually work with earlier versions but wanted to check to see if someone knew this for sure before I throw her cart in disarray.
