Default New site wants to go to secure site

    Hi all

I had some problems over the weekend with my new install ( 1.5.5b) that was not showing my stylesheet, I did eventually get that fixed ( site was looking for css files under https instead of http)

Thereafter I upgraded via softaculous to 1.5.5d and now I have further errors, so I have decided to do a fresh install again (3rd Time in a month)

I went to softaculous and installed a new 1.5.5d in a new folder, but this one is also going to https!

What could the reason for this be?

Is it just better to upload all files and do a manual install?

    Thx
    Russel

And the best version is the latest one? 1.5.5d?

Normally, when one uses Softaculous there is a setup page where you "Choose Protocol" and other options. Did you see such a page? Did you select any options?

A manual install is usually a good idea but that is only if one is familiar with installing scripts. As many are not, Script Installers can be very handy and, from experience, Softaculous works very well. One still needs to pay attention though to the setup page provided and what is being selected/used.

With that said, only use a Script Installer to upgrade if you have experience using them to upgrade. They can and will, overwrite a previous install if not done correctly.
