Generically, yes. The "other source" would be a "group" of data that initially is unrelated to a specific product, but all of the pieces and parts within that data group relate to each other. When a specific group of data is brought together they can be/or have been assigned a unique designator. It is this unique designator combined with a similar unique designator for the product that is in a purchase by a person that provides enough information to know who has been sponsored, how much sponsorship they have recieved, who provided sponsorship, etc.
Oh and it just so happens that the group of data that was put together to line up with the sale is such that it can be displayed with dependent "attributes". Quoted because these attributes are not the same attributes as one assigns to an individual product in the normal ZC handling of product attributes.
