    Default How do I know which item I have sold

    Hi Guys,
    I'm new to all this so bear with me please?
    All the products on my site are the same price.
    When I make a sale I get a notification from Paypal of the sale, but how do I set it up so that I know which product I sold?
    Each product has a code, but this code is not appearing in the notification e mail from Paypal.

    Which of the PayPal payment methods are you using? Don't you receive an email from your Zen Cart when a customer makes a purchase?

    Hi, I just set it up for customer to make payment by Paypal, I did not know there was more than one Paypal method. When I make a sale I get a message from Paypal, but I don't get a message from Zen Cart. So is there something I need to switch on within zen cart to generate a message response to sale from them?

    There are, in Zen Cart 1.5.5, three PayPal payment methods:

    PayPal Payments Standard
    PayPal Payments Pro
    PayPal Express Checkout

    Which one have you enabled?

    Check your store's Configuration->Email Options, specifically the value for Send Copy of Order Confirmation Emails To. That (or those) are the email addresses to which the order-confirmation emails are sent.

    Do you receive contact-us emails?

    Hi,

    I've Paypal Standard.

    I've now completed the "Send copy of order confirmation e mail"

    I don't receive "Contact Us" e mails.

    Also when I go to by back store zen cart it does not show me a customer list. Do I need to activate that too?

    You've got something seriously wrong in your installation, since you are neither receiving emails nor logging the fact that a PayPal order has been processed.

    Are there any myDEBUG*.log files present in your store's /logs directory?

    While the two issues are typically separate of not receiving a completed contact_us email and PayPal standard purchases not getting logged (and email sent), it certainly appears that the email issue needs to first be addressed first. Then to determine if you should switch to the preferred PayPal method of PayPal express.

    Also, if you switch to Express Checkout your customers will have a much better shopping experience, and your store will have fewer technical problems.

    What has been done related to the above FAQs and of those which do not make sense, or are unable to be followed?

    That perhaps the first to try to follow would be: https://www.zen-cart.com/content.php...ved-or-sending
    Which is on emails that are not received nor appear to be sent. Others may be of benefit to review and try to follow to solve this issue of emails not being sent. Suggest concentrating on getting contact_us emails to work first as they are the easiest to arrange to send. Then focus on the payment emails as those are more involved.
