System requirements page does not list zlib: https://www.zen-cart.com/content.php...o-run-zen-cart
zc_install shows missing zlib with an ! not an X, implying it's an optional item.
However it is not optional, admin_activity.php does not work at all without it due to

Oops. Yes, you're right. It is required. Requirements-doc has been updated.
Yours is the first I've seen anyone "not" have it compiled-in by default..
