Default Filled in fields in PayPal

Under what conditions (e.g., logged in, not logged in) and PayPal Express settings are fields automatically filled in on the PayPal site? I'm trying to explain to customers what to expect, and to setup Express Checkout to minimize the typing the customer needs to do.

I should add some more "conditions" to my post, including if the customer uses the Express Checkout button on the checkout page (if present) or the PayPal payment method in the normal checkout path, and if the Express Checkout button is not present, and the customer chooses PayPal on the payment method page.

Hate to throw this out there because it is likely to come across as un-assistive. Seems that with the changes made to paypal processing across versions of ZC, the fact that the question is being asked in reference to ZC 1.5.1, etc... what does your testing of the site's response indicate about all of the possible conditions?

I mean I'm pretty sure that if the user is not nor has not ever logged into the site that there is no "personal" information possible to send. Then there comes things about when the individual's information has been collected/plugins used, modifications made, etc...

Again, not necessarily a direct answer of, oh it always does this... but perhaps a way to discover the answer(s) sought.

In up-to-date versions of Zen Cart, the data passed to PayPal Express Checkout is:

    a) Scenario: customer is NOT logged in:
    - cart-contents are passed, since that's all that is known
    - If the customer has used PayPal in the past (and therefore has a PayPal cookie in their browser), the PayPal login screen might show a "login" prompt as the default, instead of a "to pay with credit card" prompt.

    b) Scenario: Customer IS logged in:
    - cart contents are passed
    - when customer is logged in, we have their address, so that is also passed to PayPal as the SHIPPING address.
    - PayPal never lets you pass a billing address, because PayPal always assumes that the customer's address-on-file is the billing address, and PayPal won't share any billing data with you the merchant.
    - If the customer has used PayPal in the past (and therefore has a PayPal cookie in their browser), the PayPal login screen might show a "login" prompt as the default, instead of a "to pay with credit card" prompt.
