I am fairly new to ZC. I am currently in the process of setting up the back end features and am stumped on the payment gateway set up. I have a merchant services account with Square. THey have told me they can provide API ID and Key, but I have not been able to find a provider specific module or plugin to interface with them. I am still getting used to this forum and the terminology used so I'm not sure how effective my searches are/have been. Is there a way to set this gateway up with the features already included in ZC? Or maybe a generic module to provide the needed functionality? Or will I have to find someone to write a patch or plugin for me? Any help or insight is greatly appreciated!

Hi, and welcome to Zen Cart.
We're in the process of writing a Square module, but it's not quite ready yet. Estimate 4-6 weeks.
You do need a module in order to have your store talk to a given gateway.
In the meantime I do recommend that you at least set up PayPal Express Checkout.

Thank you DrByte. I happened across that thread almost immediately after posting this, lol. I will keep a look out for updates, and, I guess, settle for paypal in the meantime. Again, thank you for your work.
