    Default Canadian & US Taxs

    Hi there,

I'm new to the software & forum. :)

So I sell digital items, but I also allow customers to buy the printed version, & the print on demand company charges tax in certain US states, so the tax has to be charged ONLY on the printed product which means I have to get them to add 2 items into their cart.

But for anyone from Canada who purchases, they need to be charged HST on either or product, so how do I set that up so only the Canadians are charged on all items for sale & only those States are charged for the printing product?

And also, I need to be able to capture their snail mail address for even the digital products, does the cart ask that of them?

    Thanks

Each product can be assigned a separate Tax Class (ie: taxable or non-taxable, etc)

And each tax rate can be associated with a tax zone-definition.

So, simply create a tax Zone Definition for each geographic area in which you have to charge taxes, then create and associate the corresponding tax rates with each of those zones and classes. The cart will do the rest.

Also, since by default Zen Cart requires an account in order to checkout, you will have an address for everyone who buys.

Yes I think we figured it out, but we'll read that over.

    Thank you :)
