Default Editing a template for Easy Signup

A long time ago, I installed the Easy Signup and Login module/template. It is no longer available/supported apparently, but it still works ok on my store so I don't see the need to change it (yet).

Only today, i realized that while creating an account, the customer needs to fill out a whole lot of information that is totally useless to me. I sell digital products so there is NO shipping whatsoever, and some people don't like to fill that out (not realizing that they CAN put bogus info) that many fields, even more when they want to "purchase" something that is free.

I would like to remove those useless fields. Is it possible?

If not, is there a way not to require them? Currently, when you create an account, only the name and email have a red star identifying them as mandatory, BUT it turns out they are ALL mandatory and the account can't be created without all of them.

And if any of this is possible, would someone be able to point out where i should edit which file.
    Thank you.

Admin -> Configuration -> Customer Details

There you will find switches to enable/disable some of what you are looking to do.

Thanks. I just set the Address Line 2 and State to False so they don't show up but i don't see any switch for Address, City, Zip Code and they are still "required" when creating a new account. Is there somewhere else to look?

Oh never mind. My store is still using 1.5.0 so this mod might just not work until I upgrade

First, a note ... the plugin link that @stevesh included is for versions of Zen Cart prior to 1.5.5; if you're using ZC 1.5.5+, use this version of the plugin: https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=2090.

I've got the readmes online (v1 and v2) so you can see what files require changing prior to any download!

I'll rate this plugin's installation as medium. There are core- and template-override file changes required, but they're well-marked with comments to make any merge a bit easier.

Note also that those plugins make changes to checkout process, with additional processing added to the checkout_payment and checkout_confirmation steps; you'll need to check/see how those changes would interact with ESL.

Would it work with 1.5.0? It is listed starting with 1.5.1

Nope, the plugin makes use of the "updateable values in notifiers" Zen Cart feature that was introduced in ZC1.5.1.

    Oh too bad.
Then, in the mean time is there a way to either get rid of the address fields OR not have them required?
