    Default Can't Log in to Admin

    I know this has been discussed before, but I've tried all the steps that I can find to reset the password. First for the important info:
    Zen Cart v1.51 - upgraded to 1.5.5e, worked fine, added plugin "Add New Customer", everything went wrong, did site restore back to 1.5.1.
    PHP 5.4 is what my site is using.

    Now I can't log in to my admin. I tried having the website send a new password. (This has never worked with zen cart for me.) Didn't work. I went in to my php and did the code:
    DELETE FROM admin WHERE admin_name = 'Admin';
    INSERT INTO admin (admin_name, admin_email, admin_pass, admin_profile)
    VALUES ('Admin', 'admin@localhost', '351683ea4e19efe34874b501fdbf9792:9b', 1);

    There are no prefixes in the tables, so I ran the code just as it is. I tried signing in with username: Admin and password: admin . No luck. I cleared my browsing history and tried again. Still no luck. I thought maybe the website had me locked out after failed attempts. Waited 24 hours before trying again and still no luck.

    I would like to remove the "Add New Customer" plugin, but I can't do that without being able to log in to admin, since that is one of the steps to removal. I would also like to upgrade to 1.5.5e again, but without being able to sign in to admin, I can't simply do the upgrade as it asks for admin credentials.

    When you say you restored back to 1.5.1, what was done to "restore"?

    I went to my cpanel in hostmonster, and did a full website files restore with Site Backup Pro to an earlier date.

    If that's the case, your database has already been upgraded to 1.5.5 and the data should be accessed using a 1.5.5 fileset. That said though, typically a file restore will put back on the server what was previously there, but leave any files that have since been added (weren't present before) so that too could be causing issues even if one were to consider the 1.5.5 database capable of being operated by 1.5.1 files.

    I also restored the database to an earlier date. Could this have something to do with it?

    Actually right now I'm hedging more towards the php version as a possible issue while using ZC 1.5.1 as there are changes needed to it to support above php 5.3 and 5.4 is reported as currently being used. It would seem that if you had a backup of the files and database just prior to adding the additional plugin that things would be back to the desired state. Otherwise just by getting the files to 1.5.5 without the additional code of the additional plugin ought to have things functional with a little database bloat that could be corrected.

    My cpanel will let me upgrade the php version. Should I do that and try the upgrade to 1.5.5e again?

    Or are you saying the php version needs to be less than 3? Or do I need to do anything with the php version at all?

    Server requirements: http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?...o-run-zen-cart

    For ZC 1.5.1 out of the box, max php is 5.3.x...

    But, yes, would suggest upgrading to ZC 1.5.5. It will work with php 5.3 or 5.4. (one payment module won't with php 5.3, but that's besides the point at the moment).

    In case it becomes an issue again during the zc_install process to upgrade the database, you should still be able to use the admin password "reset" that was attempted earlier. Thing is, ZC 1.5.5 worked, it wasn't until the additional plugin either wasn't correctly installed or wasn't compatible that the issue(s) began.
