    Default Abandonment Cart Issues

    Hi,

So we looked at 2 add-ons for abandonment cart issues & neither sends you (the admin) an e-mail when a customer abandons LOL No comment.

The WHOLE purpose behind this besides trying to salvage sales, is to figure out what the customers don't like & why they are abandoning in real time or shortly thereafter.

How will you know when that happens if the add-on doesn't tell you & no, I don't have time to go to the SC every day & look. A simple e-mail even daily would be good enough.

    We looked into:

    1. Cart Reminder
    2. Recover Cart Sales

Does anyone know of an add-on that has at least this feature or more?

    Thanks a ton

    Default Re: Abandonment Cart Issues

Both of those tend to target a cart of someone that has logged in and has items in their cart.

From what is described though you are looking to capture the contents of a cart basically at the point of session expiration which could also include individuals that have an account (although they may login again and complete their transaction). Of course the later action would require some consideration as part of tracking.

Recording (to transmit later) of the contents (assuming that is all that is desired), would require that the contents be stored until the message is sent if that is to be the life cycle of such information, otherwise if not stored and is immediately sent then there is the "risk" that a user that had logged in previously may time-out (email sent) but then log in and complete the purchase with or without the same contents in the cart...

Just a few things to consider.

Another thing that could help in such tracking (although doesn't currently have a send email feature) would be User Tracking. It does track activity as in which page(s) have been presented to the user whether logged in or not so at least the last page visited would be available.
