    Hey all!

How can I install Zen cart in a sub-domain. Tried it a few times, but unable to finish the installation's last step to pen Admin Page.

If I understood your question well, the answer is simple.
You make a subdirectory in your server and acts like it is the main domain.
Let's say you have a domain of www.yourdomain.com and you want a new zen cart site
on a sub directory so you make a directory such as www.yourdomain.com/gunni and install
there Zen Cart. The url will be www.yourdomain.com/gunni.

After the installation you can type in your browser www.yourdomain.com/gunni and you will
get your new Zen Cart installation.
If you go to www.yourdomain.com you should get your other website on that url which is the main
root in your server and they both could work parallel together.
If you would like in the future that www.yourdomain.com/gunni will be redirected from www.yourdomain.com
without anyone to know about it you can make it in few ways.
My hosting company has a simple option to "point" a domain to subdirectory so it is a simple thing to do.

While you work on your test subdirectory site, do not work that crawlers can crawl it so you need to hide it
    from them...

I must have misunderstood his question. I thought he wanted it on a sub-domain www.store.yourdomain.com not a directory.

The problem stated was with opening the "Admin" section after installation and in some cases, that has been linked to the htaccess file.
It would be nice to get more information on the subject for a better assessment of the situation.

Anthony, recommended procedures are available at https://www.zen-cart.com/entry.php?3...d-of-upgrading

Sub-directory is much easier than sub-domain.

I created a new sub-domain to create a new site. Now when I installed another Zen Cart in that sub-domain (which is a folder in the root) and type in the url to add database, password, etc I am receiving a 'page not found'.

Thanks, I'm not having problems logging into the Admin, but creating the admin, adding database info, etc

Sounds like you're jumping on your horse and riding madly off in all directions.

    It's a subdomain but it's in a folder.
You can login to admin but you can't create it.
You can't create the database that is used to allow you to log in to the admin

Can you see how we might be confused as to what the problem is?

The big question is whether or not you even looked at the link I posted.

Before trying to see if the issue is ZC related or not, should see if the sub-domain is working properly. Ie. Place a file in the root of what would be your sub-domain, then attempt to access it as you would if trying to get to the file off of the sub-domain (not the sub-directory off of the root).

If that checks out ok, then consider installing ZC into the sub-domain part. Some of the issues may be related to how the host is either looking for or has found an index related file before/without finding the ZC file(s) or, or, or...
