    Thank you for taking the time to detail all those instructions. I was able to follow them and it worked like a charm, on the first try!

    Thanks again for your help.

    Years later, I am trying to add a new product that has no need to go through checkout.
    Something like this: https://creationcassel.com/store/ind...roducts_id=593

    Since last time I used this thread, I have upgraded my store to 1.5.7c and I am not sure if it has changed something or if I am not following the instructions correctly, but setting the product as "document-general" product type still gives me a cart. How do I add a product in the same way as in the link above? I can't remember (it was 4 years ago).

    Of course, that looks good. That is what was uploaded years ago. I can't get the same thing as now it does not do the same thing. Here is the page that I want like the previous one:
    https://creationcassel.com/store/ind...roducts_id=791
    As you can see, it didn't upload the same way, and I DID select "document-general". Is it different for 1.5.7?

    Just switch the type to document general.

    UPDATE products SET products_type = 3 WHERE products_id = 791;

    I did set it to Document-General in the first place. Why isn't it appearing as such?
    And where do I update that?

    Thanks. That fixed the issue, but why didn't it work in the first place when I have selected "Document-General"?

    In addition, where can I edit the product description? Here is what I see:

    I would say that the page you show in the video is fundamentally broken...
    Layout looks off to me, there are defines showing for date picker and text_edit_products_image, and no form field for the product name... it is just wrong

    Yep, your admin looks bad. I just tested editing a product type 3 product in the demo dataset to ensure product type document_general was still good, and it looked fine.

    You might try making a backup, uploading a fresh copy of the admin, and then fixing admin/includes/configure.php to see if that fixes your problem.

    Oh and make sure product type 3 is still document_general - if you run
    select * from product_types where type_id = 3;

    you should see something like

    | type_id | type_name | type_handler | type_master_type | allow_add_to_cart | default_image | date_added | last_modified |
    +---------+--------------------+------------------+------------------+-------------------+---------------+---------------------+---------------------+
    | 3 | Document - General | document_general | 3 | N | | 2021-12-08 06:10:44 | 2021-12-08 06:10:44 |

    Well, I'll have to figure out what that means as it is NOT something I am familiar with.
    Thanks.
