    Default People signing up without ordering

    So I'm still new to Zen Cart, & the other day someone signed up & didn't order, & I also didn't get a notice. I only noticed them in the admin area by accident.

    How do we get notifications of new account creations, but more importantly, could this be a red flag that someone is trying to hack?

    Do you guys get this often, & do you reach out to the person asking them why they didn't order (nicely of course), or do you eventually delete their account & if yes, after how long?

    Check your admin's Configuration->Email Options and make sure that Send Copy of Create Account Emails To - Status

    is set to 1 and that you've supplied a valid email for Send Copy of Create Account Emails To

    Also suggest going through the contact_us process to see that emails are being handled properly. If the above was already properly set, may need to do some investigation of email settings.     As far as "normal" to create an account and not check out? Would say it's not abnormal. Without really knowing how far into the checkout process they got it is difficult to identify if perhaps something turned them away or perhaps they were doing some comparison shopping and had a better deal, or perhaps they got a phone call that pulled them away... There are plugins that can email the customer about the situation (cart had product in it and is still on hold, won't you come back type thing).

    I would say that answers to the other questions depend on several factors. Nature of the business, past customer history (general customers) in that perhaps most only shop once, etc...
