Blank Pages for store - others ok.

Getting just a White Screen with Zen Cart.
Worked great for years, something changed around 3/22/18.
The htaccess files were all dated 3-22-18 for reason (bluehost?) .

When the site is accessed, a prompt displays at the bottom of the browser page:
“ Do you want to open or save zen (4.45 KB) from lynx-lair.com? “
Similar to clicking on a file from a browser to download or open.

I have no idea what happened, we haven’t done any changes or updates.
And.. we haven’t made any full site backups in a long time.
We do have recent SQL backups made via an admin sql backup module.

Non-ZenCart html files will load though~!

Any help would be great !!

Your index.php file has a "-" as its first character - you'll need to remove this.

how it got there is anyone's guess, but it could be indicative of other problems...

Thanks for the replies guys, I deleted the hyphen but still have the same issue.
We have another zen cart site with same problem loading: theribjoint.com (didn't have the hyphen in index.php).
I noticed .htaccess files and php.ini files all had dates of 3/22/18 for both sites.
Very weird. I don't recall Bluehost sending any notices about system updates or php changes.

The website files and folders appear to be all there.
Both zen cart sites are on Bluehost, both had the 3/22/18 file dates.


Still open for any help or suggestions!
Over the years I've found a lot of solutions and great ideas on this forum.


I'll keep digging around and will post a follow-up when it gets resolved.

Some of the solutions do depend on specific portions of the file system to load. There may be several other areas affected before the point where ZC is able to log anything.

Have you opened your .htaccess and seen what it says? has it changed from the default
What did your host say when you contacted them
