how to insert image or color to top header bar, sidebox header bar and others?

Hi all,

I'd like to change the dark color of top header bar and sidebox header bars of default 155 responsive to
1) lighter colors or
2) include ornament image.

I tested a lot with css and some seems to be working for desktop but elsewhere still a lot is failing. Perhaps I don't know which css, which line.

Attached is an image where customizations needed.

You can use repeat: X or repeat:y in your stylesheet, with the class or id that has the image.

I used the color change plugin. Looks like it does not change for ipad portrait mode and also for some phones. Some parts get the new color but some others, especially top navbar, don't get. Strange.
