filezilla timeout

I just signed up to a new host and am trying to setup filezilla and filezilla is timing out. I am using my domain for the host, my cpanel name for the username and cpanel password and it will not connect. Not sure if I am missing something ??

Before I changed my name servers I tried the temporary webpage url that my new host gave me and I got a 404 error.

Do you think the two are connected? Do you see something I am missing on the filezilla setup?

if your host provides you with cpanel, there should be setup directions for filezilla under the FTP Accounts section of the Files.

Scroll down to your ftp account and click on Configure FTP Client.
