    Default PAYPAL_CURL log Files

PAYPAL_CURL_xxxxxxxx.log files used to appear in the root/cache folder.

They have stopped showing there. Not sure if they were turned off at some point or if there is another issue.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in Advance

The fact that you are looking in the cache folder versus logs leads me to believe you're using an old version of Zen.

Mind sharing some of the posting tips with us? Especially, why you are looking for the files.

Lots of changes to Zen and PayPal since files were sent to cache.

Correct, I'm working with a client on upgrading their installation at the same time implementing some payment changes on the current site.

In the process noticed that the PayPal_Curl files had stopped showing in the cache folder.

As I was looking for the response codes in the log for troubleshooting some cc declines.

Starting to thinking maybe the endpoint changes they did last year, may have played a role.

    Looking for some direction.

    Thanks

And we're looking for answers to the posting tips. We have no idea what version you're coming from, what version you're going to, whether you are using an "auto-installer" (DON'T), what method used to upgrade/rebuild,.....

A link in the form of yoursiteDOTcom can help as well. The posting tips are not just there to take up space.

Sorry db, The site that's being replaced is 1.3.8a.

I am rebuilding the new one in 1.5.5f from scratch. Not upgrading. The 138a is the current one with the cache question.

    Thanks Again.

Need to keep going with answering the posting tips questions. Preferably clearly. Said that noticed logs stopped being written. When did they stop? When did they last work? Do they work now? Are other issues being logged in the cache directory of the old site? Is it possible to cause an issue that gets logged such as a malformed sql statement?

Those log files only appear if the module's debugging mode is set to store logs. See the admin config for that module's settings.
Newer ZC versions moved those files to the /logs/ directory.
Also, the logs can't be written if the directory isn't writable by PHP.

It appears that the PayPal_Curl files are still being produced but they are going to modules/payment/paypal/logs. I can't identify why the destination location has changed but the file dates seems to coordinate when the PayPal endpoints were updated to https last December. Also, MC, There are no instances of debug logs in the cache folder. I don't believe that 1.3.8a had that functionality natively, but I could be wrong.

1.3.8a is so old, vulnerable, and requires software past end-of-life. There's gotta be at least three rolls of duct tape on that one.

Correct 1.3.8 didn't have that feature initially, but it was made available as an add-on after that. Figured that in cobbling the store, that perhaps the utility had been added.
