    Default Checkout taking server down

    Hi all

So, i've installed ZenCart on my server and the installation and setup have gone fine, but I have a very unusual problem.

When i'm testing the site, everything looks fine and working as it should but as soon as I go to checkout, the site hangs. The massive problem here is that it also takes out all the other sites on my server. EVERYTHING just stops working and I have to restart the server (which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't so I have to do it multiple times so it may be coincidence when it finally comes back up). It is DEFINITELY this step that I take though that kills everything, as soon as I test checking out, it all goes wrong.

I have another ZenCart installations on this server which has no problems whatsover, it's just this one.

The thing is, I can still access my Plesk panel during the downtime but all the domains stop working.

I've done this multiple times and it failsafe brings everything down once I start to go to checkout.

Any ideas? Is there an error log I can access / post here?

    Thanks

    Dene

I moved this installation to a new server for testing, and everything works perfectly.

I didn't want to do this and i'm desperate to know why this problem is happening

What payment, shipping and order-total methods are being used when the site crashes?

Are there any myDEBUG*.log files created in your store's /logs directory around the time of the crash?

How was this particular copy installed? Was it by use of an auto-installer or were the files manually uploaded?

Nothing at all in the log folder, well, a log file from 15th July which is when I installed it.

Zone Rates standard module, using weight based calculation.

I just did a standard install from the ZenCart zip file. Uploaded ZIP to server, unzipped, created database, ran installer. The I added a custom theme that I bought and have used before but even when I used the standard theme the crash occurred. Really confusing.

What are the versions of PHP and MySQL being used for the store? Could you post a screenshot of the the top portion of admin's Tools->Server/Version Info (taking care not to reveal the name of your admin directory)? Just post the information between the page's Server Information header and the start of the PHP information listing.

OK, nothing stands out from that screenshot. What payment modules and order-total modules are being used when the order 'crashes'?

you need to look at the logs. the access and error logs will tell you where to begin looking... and not the zen-cart logs, but the server apache logs (assuming you are running apache....)

if the site works fine on another server then it is obviously a server configuration issue.... but i am a big fan of looking at logs especially if you can reproduce the problem at will.
