Multiple images gone

Hi all,

Hope I have mentioned all requerd info above.

My problem: multiple images are not displayed anymore on item/product pages.
Meaning: I have a product > this has a main image > below main image and discription are additional images.
The additional images don't show any more.

Had no problem with this for years.
Recently my provider upgraded to PHP 7 and I wondered if this caused the problem.
Just noticed this last week.
If so is there a quick fix I can use to let additional images show up again?

Rest of the shop is running OK, but the option of zencart to be able to add as much images as I want was the reason to get started with it in 2011.

Hope someone can tell me more!

Please note, while not a solution to your posted issue, there are no current releases of Zen Cart that have been designed to run under PHP 7.2 or later. Zen Cart 1.5.3 is going to have issues under any PHP version 7.0 or later.

You might want to ask your hosting-provider to down-level to PHP 5.6.

I found out what the problem was (and still is!)

I did some searching more and also contacted a good friend who knowns more about PHP and website designs.
He would have take a look the coming week, because he was away for holiday and will be back on monday.

I contacted my hosting-provider and told what the problem was.
Also that I suspected that the upgrade to PHP 7.2 could be the reason.
The contact person told me that I could downgrade the PHP version to PHP 5.6

I did that and indeed, the additional images are back!

The provider will not support PHP 5.6 in 2-3 months anymore.
Does this mean that my shop won't function anymore or does it mean that they don't spend time in PHP 5.6 anymore?
Can any one tell me what the normal way is?

If I upgrade my zen cart, will it be able to run with PHP 7.1 or 7.2 again?
If so, I will not do it my self, but ask my friend.
I am to much affraid that I am doing something wrong and how to correct it again.

Any advise would be much appriciated.

A proper cpanel host can offer the user the opportunity to currently run PHP 5.4 thru 7.2 with a click of a button. Seems they are a bit restrictive.

I will let my friend know what you advised me.
First step is that he needs to upgrade my zen cart to v1.5.5f
After that set the PHP to 7.1
May be i need to check more regular for updates.
I am more the kind of guy that "don't change a thing when it works!"

Well, i did before not even know that this was possible.
I think it is a matter of opinion if the host is restrictive or not.
Someone told me once: the more choices a person gets, the more difficult it becomes to choose!
I am not happy that i have to do changes, but it keeps me focused and up to date.

The right decision to use an earlier version, but not always it helps. I solved my problem in a different way. I did not expect the updates I needed. but simply provided the code https://rubygarage.org/services/web-development. They adapted it to my situation and did not have to change the version. Maybe not the cheapest option, but extremely effective.
