This is an issue your hosting company can resolve for/with you.

If the directory exists (which it should because it came with the Zen Cart files), then you should be able to make it writable.
If your hosting company is unable to make it writable, then they're the wrong hosting company to be using.

What do you envision renaming it to?
Why do you think that will solve anything?

Yes, you can add the following to your /includes/configure.php file, AND your /admin-folder/includes/configure.php file and change 'logs' to 'fred':

    define('DIR_FS_LOGS', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'logs'); // trailing slash omitted

BUT it could be called "logs" or "fred" or "silvia", but if it's not writable then the name of it doesn't matter and its purpose is pointless.

You need to solve the problem of being able to make any folder writable first.
