Default Make Catalog Always Mobile in Responsive Template

How can I make the responsive template always mobile? I have been messing with code for 2 days to try and figure it out.

I do my developing on a Acer tablet with Firefox on Ubuntu 20. When I use the F12 function to view the website as mobile, it reduces the size of the view port but the hamburger menu does not show up. Instead, the Home link stays white on a white background and no menu is available.

Why was the device auto detect system adapted? What a nightmare this is going to be for devs! Who keeps track of all the devices available to the market? How accurate is the list? I am sure many devices will be left off or skipped over due to human error or because the device is not popular.

Why not simply give the user a choice which view they want to use (mobile, tablet or full)?

Optionally, make an admin option to always use whatever mode the webmaster desires?

Either way seems much Zenner than the massive auto detect system I have mulled over for the last 2 days...IMHO.

    Thanks.

I'll admit to being a little confused by your question. The idea behind a responsive template is to adjust the view depending on the visitors device. It sounds like you want your site to display in the mobile view on, say, my desktop. I'm not sure why you want to do that.

The problem may be with the Firefox F12 function. I use an extension called Mobile FIRST to switch between desktop and mobile and it works fine.

Thanks for the extension tip earp...will give it a try.

I just need the hamburger menu available all the time until I get the css stylesheet nailed down on the add-on I am developing.

I have my own responsive template that always shows my hamburger menu.

I was trying to combine my mods with the responsive classic mod to simplify things a bit.

I will just stick to my existing template instead of trying to use responsive classic.

My template has less issues with css styling than responsive classic template.

If there is a way to make responsive classic always show the hamburger menu, I would like to know.

    Another cool tool: https://responsively.app/

It enables you to have a simultaneous view of desktop, phone and tablet layout.
