Plesk and url settings

Hi all, I am moving my existing live site to a new server.
Everything is copying over ok but I want to test and check the admin side before I go live and her is my issue.
As the domain candlewithcare.co.uk is live my NEW server has no domain.
I can access it here http://217.194.210.64/plesk-site-pre...17.194.210.64/
but when I go to the admin to login it redirects to my live site due to the settings in the config files.

So my question is, how can I edit the config files to allow me access to the NEW server admin pages to test everything before I switch across?

I have tried http://217.194.210.64/plesk-site-pre...17.194.210.64/ but it doesn't seem to like it.

if it is a dedicated IP you are using you can use that in the config files,instead of your domain. Also check the file paths, as it is likely the have changed to on the new server.

if you do NOT want to edit your config files, you can edit the hosts file on your PC. i'm guessing you are running windows on your PC; depending on the version, you can look here to see how to edit your hosts file.

you would then want to add:

217.194.210.64 candlewithcare.co.uk

you would then need to remove or comment that line out when you want to get back to your live site.

Thanks Carlwhat I have done exactly that as a static ip is not available.
On a Mac but the same principle
